AAMC Competencies: What Are They and Why Are They Important
Medical schools have defined 15 core competencies for entering medical students. This session covered what they are, how they are used in admission, and how to ensure they stand out in your application.
Not everyone begins medical school the year after undergrad – in fact, around 60% of medical school matriculants nationally have had one or more gap years. This session discussed other pathways to medical school through gap years, post-baccalaureate programs and what options to consider when the first round of applications is unsuccessful.
This session will discussed the importance of secondary/supplemental applications, and how programs/tests like CASPer, AAMC SJT, Kira Talent, etc. are used by admission committees and how you can best prepare.
Virtual Interviews: Not Just Another Zoom Meeting
Virtual meetings have taken over our world and while we are all familiar to some degree, there are a lot of mistakes that we are all prone to. After a year of virtual interviews, Medical School Admissions reps and pre-health advisors share what they learned and offer some tips and tricks for applicants to be more prepared and take advantage of a virtual interview.
